Weekend Fun

What a fantastic weekend! It was the weekend of the 66th Annual Golden Gloves in Tacoma. I sang the Canadian & U.S. National Anthem for both nights of the event.

I also got to see my sister, my niece & nephews and my cousin.

I also got to spend some time with my parents for their birthday weekend…Dad (Feb 27th) & Mom (Mar 2nd).

I had my first trip to IKEA. That was pure insanity! It was worse than Costco on a Saturday during Christmas. I loved the deals they had but online is the way to go with them.
We had a harrowing trip home through snow, ice and multi-vehicle accidents. It definitely got the heart racing.
Now, we are home on our bed and on our way to dream land.

I’m Still In The Game!

This was a very busy week! Usually, I eat the worst when I’m busy. Who has time to think about eating properly when there are so many other things on the proverbial plate? Well, it has gotten to the point where I don’t really have to think about it anymore. Tomi and I have been trying to make sure that we have healthy snacks around the house as well as healthy options for lunches and dinners. That way, no matter what we reach for when a jones hits, we’ll be making a good choice as long as we keep portion control in mind.
This weekend was the Employee Recognition Banquet for Kadlec and I was all prepared to eat horribly. Well, my plan was foiled by…bacon. I had a huge pile of mashed potatoes along with pasta. Well, the potatoes had bacon in them so as a non-meat eater, I couldn’t partake. This is a good thing because I would’ve felt so guilty afterward. The largest portion of food on my dinner plate was salad and fruit. I did eat 3 pieces of cheesecake and almost an entire bottle of wine so I got an extra workout in to ‘pay’ for that.
This week, Tomi & I have decided to work on meal planning. We will sit down on Saturday and plan out lunches & dinners for the week and then shop accordingly. We have incorporated workout planning. We are going to put our workouts on our family calendar just like all our other appointments and come up with a consequence for when there is a cancel or reschedule. I am hoping this will help me be more consistent with working out because I HATE IT!
The last change I’ve vowed to work toward is getting more sleep each night so goodnight! 4am is going to arrive quickly.

I’m Going Down…

All Smiles!

Another -3.4lbs gone and another -1.25in. I am feeling pretty good about things for this week. It was definitely a hard earned loss. I have been sick all week and I was definitely aware of the things I am not able to have. Let me clarify that statement by saying that I haven’t been feeling deprived, just aware.
Tomi and I did some calculating and based on my current rate of losing, I should be down -50+lbs by my birthday. The only sad part for me is the boon shrinkage. I am gonna need new bras soon.

One down…

1/1/11 is in the bag! It was a beautifully, lazy day; we didn’t get out of bed until 3PM! Dressed to impress, we headed out to the mall cause “Mama needed a new pair of shoes” and six pairs of socks. Ya’ll know how I love my knee-high socks; the more quirky the better.
Tomi took me to Anthony’s for dinner & it was AMAZING. Dungeoness Crab, Bay Shrimp, Artichoke Spinach Dip appetizer, Dungeoness Crab Cakes with thd most amazing Fire-Grilled Apple Bread Pudding with a Whiskey Caramel Sauce, Candied Pecans and ice cream. AMAZING! It was a fantastic meal with a fantastic woman.
We stooped for a little more shopping and now we’re snug as bugs in a rug. Spending the whole day with my honey, just the two of us, with no interruptions…priceless.
