I have so much to be thankful for in my life. I realized, however, that I have not been taking the time to give thanks for my blessings. I suppose that if I thought about it, my list could go on forever but I am just gonna do a top 10.
.) Waking up this morning and every morning for the last 36yrs – I thank God for waking me up each day, in my right mind and healthy; for the most part.
.) My honey – Tomi is my best friend and always there for me. I appreciate that she can tell me the truth when I need to hear it without being hurtful. That’s important.
.) My nook…and my library card – I love to read and I love the convenience of my eReader. At the same time, I really appreciate the smell and feel of a good, old library book.
.) Social Media – While I have made it my business to spend less time being a social media whore, I appreciate my social media sites for keeping my connected to my friends and family who I am unable to be close to (physically).
.) Employment – When I was fired from my previous job, I was angry and hurt. I took the time off to reflect on myself as well as my previous job situation and to pray. A job practically fell in my lap and I am loving every minute of it. There is nothing better than when you can do something you love in a fantastic environment.
.) Being a mom! – All of our little ‘birdies’ have left the nest. While I worry about them non-stop and pray for them constantly, it makes me happy to see my little fish out there swimming in the big pond.
.) My Grandmother – Geneva V. Coley (01/21/34 – 02/19/2005) My grandmother passed away several years ago but I appreciate that I was able to have her in my life. Tomi says there are times that I channel her from time to time. She was an amazing woman and I am so thankful for the love, lessons and prayers that I received from her. I miss her so much.
.) A good mani/ pedi – I really love to pamper myself in this way. I put my headphones in and sit back and enjoy. However you choose to pamper yourself and unwind, do it!!
.) A voice – I enjoy being able to express myself, relieve stress and share myself with others. I am thankful for the ability to write and to sing. It not only gives me a voice but provides a voice for others also.
.) Peace and Piece of Mind – For the first time in a long time, I feel very peaceful in my life. Things are not perfect by a long shot but I think that I am just in a better mental space to roll with the punches.
