What a wonderful day we had. My honey created a wonderful tree and gift staging area complete with tiny stockings since all of our decorations are in storage.
I got lots of fantastic goodies…
A Steve Madden barrel bag which was an AMAZING surprise that my honey picked all by herself.
A Martha Stewart loom knitting kit…just to name a few.
We went to breakfast at IHOP and then went to see DJANGO at the movies.
The hardest thing was being away from my family. I miss my parents, my baby girl, my siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. No matter how happy the times I do have, I feel the void of being so far from everyone.
So, my plan was to hit the club and party into the new year. Well, a lot of things conspired against my plans so here I sit, in the house watching New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
I, like many people, like to take the time to reflect as a new year approaches; on what has been and what is to come. I decided that now would be a good time to do my last “10 Things” list for 2011.
1.) My life!- Is it perfect? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Despite the ups and downs, I am happy that I am here to live each day.
2.) My partner-Tomi is everything I need in my life and then some. She definitely makes it easy to be in this partnership. We make a great team!
3.) Having my baby girl JaLisa at our house for the holidays (including her 21st birthday).
4.) My job-very thankful to be employed in this economy and to have my Mary Kay business.
5.) My natural hair- it is a lot of work and there are days where I just wanna shave my head but I love my big, fluffy, red cloud of hair.
6.) My parents- thankful to have them both in the land of the living and in good health. They mean the world to me.
7.) My family & friends- I am so thankful for all of the people who are a part of my life.
8.) Weight Watchers- just trying to keep working my program.
9.) Pescetarianism- Google it! I love the benefit of vegetarianism with a seafood perk.
10.) 2012!- If God sees fit to let me live, I will have another year to work on being a better me.
And now, a few photos from 2011
Just me being me.
