10 Things I Loved About 2013

I started the feature “10 Things I’m Loving Right Now” when I first started blogging. The idea was to do the feature once a month on the last day of the month to remind myself that no matter how bad things seem I had at least 10 things to be thankful for; by the end of the year 100+ things (in case I miss a month or two). Well life happened and I kind of fell off but I am recommitting to it for the year 2014.
2013 has definitely been full of ups and downs for my family and I but I’m thankful to have made it through to the end and if God allows it, I will wake up in a new year. I thought it would be fitting to end this year with 10 things that I loved about 2013 so here we go…
10.) I am employed and I love my job and my coworkers; most of the time.

9.) I am blessed to have a roof over my head, a car to drive and money in the bank to pay my bills.

8.) I have wonderful and supportive friends and family; and friends that are like family.

7.) Music, poetry, crafting.

6.) I read a lot of good books

5.) Struggles-they help to remind me of my blessings

4.) Being mom to 5 wonderful children.

3.) Having both my parents; living and healthy.

2.) Tomi as my wife; legally.

1.) God has allowed me to see another year. Goodbye 2013!

10 Things I Am Loving Right Now

Its that time again. Time to think about my life and all the things that make it wonderful. I’ve had a lot of stress lately but ultimately, I am feeling happy, strong and thankful. Here we go…

1. Love- I love God, my family and my life.

2. Tomi- she is my very best friend. She makes me laugh until I cry she is not afraid to be silly. Through the good & the bad we are a winning team.

3. Moving- A house where I can decorate however I want, no neighbors above my head or with a shared wall and a big yard for my dog. A nice, quiet place in the country.

4. DVR- Nothing like not having to choose which show you get to watch. You can have it all! LOL!

5. The Mid-Colombia Public Library- I read quite a bit and while there is a lot of technology out there, I actually enjoy holding a book, turning a page, having a cute bookmark. Also, with my home internet down, its nice to have somewhere to go use the computer for free.

6. Mary Kay-I am enjoying being in business for myself. I’m making new friends and learning even more about the products I already love. I am even working toward my make-up artistry certification through Mary Kay.

7. My Blackberry!-Being able to use my phone for emails and social networking along with calls & text is definitely a blessing.

8. My nutritionist and Weight Watchers. I was down 4lbs at my first weight check! My nutritionist helps me to know how to put the food together and WW PointsPlus helps me track everything (on my Blackberry).

9. My family-the older I get, the more I appreciate them…parents, siblings, children, aunts, uncles, cousins & friends (I have friends that I consider family). “When you’re in my heart, you’re in my family. When I’m in your heart, I’m in your family.”-Laurie Berkner

10. Hayley-My dog loves me so unconditionally and she is always making me laugh & smile. When I get home after a hard day, she is always so excited to see me and it helps to melt the blues.

Just being me!

Consider The Time It Takes To Live

I got an email recently that had these words in it and thought I would share.

Never look down on anybody unless you’re helping them up.

To realize the value of a sister/ brother, ask someone who doesn’t have one.

To realize the value of ten years, ask a newly divorced couple.

To realize the value of four years, ask a graduate.

To realize the value of one year, ask a student who has failed a final exam.

To realize the value of nine months, ask a mother who gave birth to a stillborn.

To realize the value of one month, ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.

To realize the value of one minute, ask a person who has missed the train, bus or plane.

To realize the value of one second, ask a person who has survived an accident.

Time waits for no one so treasure every moment you have. You will treasure it even more whenyou can share it with someone special.

To realize the value of a friend or family member, LOSE ONE.
