LIST THE WAYS YOU LOVE TO HAVE FUN.
Although I have not been keeping up on my blogging, I have been keeping up with my lists. Some of the lists are very easy to complete. Others can be as easy or as involved as you choose to make them. There have definitely been some where I’ve had to reel myself in so that I don’t spend FOREVER on one list.
Here we go…
LIST WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR LIFE TO LOOK LIKE IN TEN YEARS.
Well, that’s not hard at all (insert sarcasm font). I decided to be very straightforward with my list and not expound too much.
TAKE ACTION: What are some small steps you can take right now to make one of your dreams happen in the future?
I am so behind on my blogging!! There’s been a lot going on with work because my work mate was out for almost two weeks which doubled my work load. So lately, after sitting in front of one for 12+hrs for work, when I get home the last thing I want to do is look at a computer screen. Anyway, she’s back so hopefully my days can get back to some sense of MY normal.
Okay…this week’s list.
LIST THE HAPPIEST MOMENTS OF YOUR LIFE SO FAR.
1.) The day I gave birth to my daughter. I was excited to get to spend her 25th birthday with her. I picked her up in the morning and we made a day of it. We had breakfast and then just spent the day hanging out and catching up.
2.) The day I met Tomi
3.) My wedding day!!!
4.) The day we found out my mom was in remission. Cancer sucks!!
5.) The first time that my dad let me sing the national anthem (The Star-Spangled Banner) at the Tacoma Golden Gloves. I have been doing it for about 15yrs now.
6.) At age 15, my daughter was in a horrible car accident. She was in a coma for two weeks. When she woke up, that was one of the happiest moments of my life.
7.) Tomi and and the kids taking me to Disneyland for Christmas (2007)
8.) Our honeymoon in to Hawaii
9.) The birthday trips we took to Vegas (2007) and New Orleans (2014).
10.) Seeing Lalah Hathaway, my absolute favorite singer, 2x in concert.
11.) The day JaLisa graduated from high school.
12.) The day of my 20yr high school reunion when I got to see so many of my good friends.
TAKE ACTION: Sometimes it’s easy to forget all the wonderful things that have happened in our lives. Come back to this list every day this week to remember you live a beautiful life.
List your favorite characters from books, movies, etc.
All of my favorites are women who are strong in their vulnerability and simple in their complexity.
1.) Janie Crawford from Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
2.) Mercy Thompson from a series of books by Patricia Briggs
3.) Lauren Oya Olamina from Parable Of The Sower by Octavia E. Butler
4.) Tamara Hayle from a series of books by Valerie Wilson Wesley
5.) Tracy Ellison from Flyy Girl by Omar Tyree
6.) Cleo played by Dana Owens (Queen Latifah) in the movie Set It Off
7.) Savannah Jackson played by Whitney Houston in the movie Waiting To Exhale
8.) Bernadine Harris played by Angela Bassett in the movie Waiting To Exhale
9.) Gloria Matthews played by Loretta Devine in the movie Waiting To Exhale
10.) Robin Stokes played by Lela Rochon in the movie Waiting To Exhale
Take Action: Find a common personality trait between your favorite characters. What is one character trait that you admire in your favorite characters that you can work towards this week?
I decided to take a cue from my girl Kristi over at Sew Right Journals and make a specific, workable list of things I plan to accomplish in 2015. I figure if I am specific and I share, the more accountability I’ll have.
I found a book to help me with my goal of daily journaling and weekly blogging I’m already a week behind…LOL!). It’s called The 52 Lists Project: A Year of Weekly Journaling Inspiration by Moorea Seal.
My plan is that each week, I will share the list prompt with you and some of my list. At the bottom of each list is a call to ‘Take Action’ and I will share that too. Alright? Ready? Here we go…
The 52 Lists Project: List 1

– pack my lunch for work and lay out my clothes the night before
3.) Read at least one book per month
4.) Go to church at least 2x/mo

8.) Create a website for my business and try to book at least 6 weddings this year.
9.) Plan a girls night every other month to stay connected with my friends.
