$1.99 Can Buy Happiness

Just over a year ago we brought Hayley home. She was an adorable, little Shih Tzu puppy who had been rescued from a situation that was less than desirable.
We were not looking for a dog but we went to meet her and Tomi fell in love so she became part of the family that day.
I was a little indifferent toward her because earlier that year, we had to put Sophie, our spastic little Pomeranian to sleep and I was still grieving. I wasn’t mean to Hayley but I tried not to bond with her. I did, however, find it necessary to get her a toy since she was coming to her new home so we stopped at Petco. She was interested in anything that squeaked so I grabbed a rubber pig from the bargain bin. Its her favorite! No matter how many other toys we bring home, she ALWAYS wants her piggy.
Of course, she is my favorite little buddy now. I lovingly call her my little “dirty ball” because it seems she is eternally in need of a bath. Watching her play with her pig, tossing it from one end of the room to the other, brings her hours of happiness and it makes me smile and laugh to watch her. Best $2 I ever spent.
